The door was locked yet you walked through
And then walked through my doubt.
That day I fully believed in thee,
I will forever in glee shout.
I thought I had faith before you rose,
But your faith in me was more.
Help me, Lord, in my unbelief.
Shake me to my core.
The others believed because they saw first
When you came into that room.
Where was I that I could not see
The holiest of bridegrooms?
You took my hand and placed it there
At your wounded side,
And at that moment any doubt I had
Was driven out and quickly died.
You could have judged. I was lost
Even though you’d shown the way
But instead, you loved me again once more
And showed me how to pray.
Your faith sustains me as I spread your Word
Until that moment I face the spear.
I pray then that my faith remains
And I in it remain pure.
Very good poem with a great meaning! Used it as part of my quiet time study. Thanks!
