About

A little fact, a little fiction.

All of it’s true…

…some of it really happened.

A place I share my travels, poetry, short stories, travelogues, the occasional joke and other creative tidbits and musings, including things I wrote “way back when.”

And who am I? Just a guy who’s been blessed to live a pretty extraordinary life. As my Best Man stated in his wedding toast, “if you read his resume out loud, he sounds like he’s 75.” (It was 2007 and I was barely 28, so you do the math as to how old my resumé would make me sound like now.)

I’ve traveled to nearly two dozen nations on three continents and more than half the United States. I’ve skydived, bungee jumped, swum with sharks, ridden an elephant to an ancient Indian fortress, raced a Ferrari, kayaked down the Colorado River, captained a sailing yacht through the Greek islands, fed an alligator a burrito, crashed a party in Liechtenstein, been on national TV, played Santa in a theatrical performance, hosted a radio show, worked the graveyard shift, run for office, loved, lost (and won), and laughed.

I now live in North Idaho with my wife, Rosie, a woman who is best compared to Mary Hatch Bailey (Donna Reed’s character in It’s a Wonderful Life) for her selflessness, patience, and grace. (Rosie also has a very classic 1940s beauty to her.) Together, we have three boys, Andrew, James, and Peter.

I still manage to travel a fair amount. Mostly, though, life has slowed down a tad.

I volunteer at my parish as one of the Eucharistic ministers and lectors and as facilitator of a book club and with my sons’ Cub Scout Pack and Troop. I write, of course, and help others develop that passion as president of the North Idaho Writers League. I’m also a real estate agent, thrilled to help people pursue the American Dream of home ownership here in North Idaho.
